Who We Are

influence group was founded in 2013 by Michael P. Owens and Michael McCarthy, who collectively have more than twenty five years experience producing executive business events.

Aware that the effectiveness of most conference and trade shows was dwindling, led them to launch the influence group to deliver a revitalized event platform that business leaders would actually want to attend and where sponsors would see a true return on investment.

In just a few short years influence has grown from two founders to a team of over a dozen diverse and dedicated people. Headquartered in New York City (FiDi), the company has proven their event model offers an invigorating alternative to traditional shows.

Michael McCarthy leads business development strategy for the company and has extensive experience in the areas of sales management, key account management, and developing talent.

Michael Owens drives the company's vision, content and brand. A natural connector, Michael has produced over 100 conferences and shared stages with persons of influence from President Clinton and Bob Dole, to Marcus Lemonis and Al Gore.

When we formed the influence group, we pledged to be a positive force for the people and industries we serve with our events, but to also look outside of our own day-to-day. To Give Back...to Pay it Forward. We want for the ripples to be felt not only in our circles, through the relationships built at our events, but also that of people in need through philanthropic support. That's why a portion of revenues from each of our events will be donated to a single charitable organization every year.
